Whatever the weather, take a journey back in time with an enjoyable day of excitement and nostalgia at the award-winning Swanage Railway.
The 12-mile trip takes you through the beautiful Purbeck countryside, with incredible views of Corfe Castle.
Start your journey at Norden, close to Corfe Castle, and meander on down to the lovely Victorian seaside resort of Swanage where you will find stunning sandy beaches and plenty of parks and open space to explore.
Or begin at Swanage's vintage themed station and head north instead, watching out for the majestic sight of Corfe Castle coming into view high on the hill as you approach.
Alternatively, you can hop off/on the train at any of the stations along the route and make a day of it!

Here's some of the most frequently-asked questions about school visits to Swanage Railway, posed by teachers and other group leaders
In an emergency on board, the train will stop at the nearest safe location. Pupils must remain seated until instructed by the guard. If at a station, the assembly point is usually the station forecourt or the main car park away from the tracks.
Groups are asked to remain in their allocated blocks of carriages to ensure the guard can perform safety checks easily.
First aid kits are maintained at all staffed stations and on board every passenger train. While railway staff are trained to assist, school groups must have their own qualified first aider and carry a mobile medical kit for the duration of the trip.
Never lean out of the windows while the train is in motion due to lineside vegetation and structures, also the possibility of soot and steam clouds.
Toilets are available at the stations.
