All students must bring a swimsuit, a towel, and a change of warm clothes. While the academy provides wetsuits and buoyancy aids, youngsters should bring old trainers or water shoes that they do not mind getting wet and sandy.Students must wear buoyancy aids at all times when on the water or the pontoons. The academy operates a strict "buddy system" for all youngsters. Groups are asked to respect other beach users and stay within the designated safe teaching zones.
All hired wetsuits and equipment are thoroughly disinfected using professional-grade cleaning solutions after every single use to ensure hygiene.
A fully equipped first aid station is located within the main academy building. All lead instructors are RYA or British Canoeing first aid qualified. However, school groups must still bring their own designated first aider and mobile medical kit.
